Police probe theft from purse
POLICE are investigating the theft of money from a mislaid purse.
The owner dropped her purse on a Go North East bus in the Chester-le-Street area between 5.22 and 6pm on October 29 and then got off.
The suspect picked up the purse, removed £140 cash and left the purse on the bus before alighting.
The woman police want to speak is white, aged 60 to 65, plump, and of fair complexion.
She had long blonde tied-up hair with side a parting and fringe. She was wearing a camel-coloured fitted zip-up fleece style jacket, black gloves, a red/brown/beige knitted scarf, brown trousers.
She was carrying a fabric shopping bag in red/brown/beige colours. Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111 or Durham Police on 101, quoting Crime Reference WG1202019.
