Pupils' bring and buy sale raises £160 for Startforth Morritt Memorial Primary School fund
1:03pm Wednesday 16th January 2013 in News By Stuart Laundy, Reporter (Barnard Castle & Teesdale)
PUPILS learned a valuable lesson when they held a bring and buy sale at their school.
The event, at Startforth Morritt Memorial Primary School, near Barnard Castle, was held as part of My Money Week, which helps pupils understand the value of money and how buying and selling works.
Teacher Clare King said the bring and buy sale was run by youngsters in Years 1 and 2.
“They came up with the prices and were behind the stalls and the other classes came in to buy what they wanted,” she added.
The bring and buy sale raised more than £160 for the school fund, with any goods left over being donated to local charity shops.
