ROAD WORKS: Motorists have been warned about temporary street closures in Darlington as repairs are made to road surfaces.

Darlington Borough Council will carry out minor resurfacing work around the Burnside Road and Lanethorpe Road areas, from Tuesday, January 29.

The work is expected to take four days.

FILM NIGHT: Darlington Film Club is screening Wings of Desire (PG) on Monday, January 21, in The Forum, from 8pm.

Tickets are £3 and include free popcorn.

There will be a showing of Bugsy Malone (U) from 5.30pm on the same night. Tickets are £1.50.

CAMERA GROUP: Darlington Camcorder Club is holding a meeting titled, A Programme of Films from XDL Film-makers, on Thursday, January 24 in Haughton Methodist Church from 7.30pm.

PACT EVENT: A Park East Partners and Communities Together (Pact) meeting will take place in Skerne Park Community Centre from 6.30pm on Monday, January 21.

COUNCILLORS’ MEET: Councillors Anne-Marie Curry, Fred Lawton and Alan Macnab, ward members for North Road, will host a surgery to meet residents in Northwood Primary School from 3.35pm on Wednesday, January 23.

MUSIC CONCERT: Cockerton Methodist Church Ladies’ Group will welcome the Beltones music group to their meeting on Wednesday, January 23.

JUMBLE SALE: A jumble sale, including clothes and bric-a-brac, will be held in the Clifton Centre, in Clifton Avenue, Darlington, on Friday, January 25, from 6.30pm. Admission is 20p.

CRAFT WORKSHOP: St Andrew's Church, in Haughton Green, Darlington, holds craft workshops every Monday in the church hall, from 1pm until 3pm. Activities include embroidery and painting and cost £2 each. Call 01325-468142.

FIELD CLUB: Darlington and Teesdale Naturalists' Field Club will host a workshop on microscopy by Andrew Davis on Monday, January 28.

The group meets at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, in Vane Terrace, Darlington. To join, call 01325-466471.
