In Brief: Darlington Magistrates' Court
THE following cases were heard by South Durham Magistrates sitting at Darlington Magistrates' Court today (Tuesday, January 22):
JAMIE SAUNDERS, 20, of North Eastern Terrace, Darlington, denied using threatening, abusive and insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence. The offence is said to have taken place on June 24 last year in Darlington. A trial date has been set for May 2 at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court.
FRANK COGLAN, 21, of Jedburgh Drive, Darlington, pleaded not guilty to the burglary of a dwelling. Mr Coglan is alleged to have entered a portable building in Jedburgh Drive on July 7 last year and stolen reels of electrical cable. He will return to Darlington Magistrates’ Court on April 11.
AARRON SKIPSEY, 23, of Roslyn Street, Darlington, appeared before magistrates charged with assault causing actual bodily harm. He entered no plea and will return to the court on March 19 for a committal to Teesside Crown Court.
BARRY COLLINS, 41, of Stanhope Road North, Darlington, denied using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress. The offence is alleged to have taken place on September 12 last year in Darlington. He was granted unconditional bail and a trial date has been set for April 16 at Darlington Magistrates’ Court.
