Durham's county record office opens for brief public glimpse round archives

THE public has a chance to take a glimpse into a county’s records as a potential introduction to researching family and local history.

Durham County Record Office is staging a guided tour of its archives, at County Hall, Durham, on Thursday (January 31).

Archivist Dawn Leyland will meet visitors at the public entrance, off the A691 Framwelgate Peth, Aykley Heads, at 6pm.

The event: Your County Record Office - an Introduction to Archives, Family and Local History, is expected to last around 90 minutes.
