TRIBUTES have been paid to a long-serving councillor, who has died.
Margaret Robinson, known as Maggie, was a member of Cassop-cum-Quarrington Parish Council for 28 years, including 13 years as chairman.
She was also a member of Durham City Council for ten years until its abolition in 2009.
Mrs Robinson, of Parkhill, Coxhoe, also served as a governor of Bowburn Junior School and on the management committee of Bowburn Community Association.
A spokesman for Cassop-cum-Quarrington Parish Council said her fellow councillors saluted her.
Mrs Robinson, who outlived her first husband, is survived by various relatives including her second husband, Stan.
She died on Sunday, January 20, aged 77 and her funeral was held at St Mary’s Church, in Coxhoe, on Thursday (January 31).
