THE developers behind a £30m scheme to build a cinema multiplex and leisure scheme in Darlington have thanked residents for giving their views at a consultation event.
More than 100 people viewed the proposals for the Feethams Leisure scheme, earmarked for the former bus station site, when they went on display last week.
Developers Terrace Hill held the consultation event to gain local views on what should be included in the scheme, which will feature a nine-screen cinema, an 80-bedroom Premier Travel Inn hotel and an assortment of restaurants and bars.
The comments made at the event are being complied before an application for planning permission is submitted to Darlington Borough Council.
Feedback can also be made through the Feethams Leisure website, Facebook and Twitter pages until February 18.
Duncan McEwan, head of retail and leisure atTerrace Hill said: “We were all encouraged to see a great amount of support for Feethams Leisure being shown during the event and look forward to receiving the public’s thoughts on the scheme. “Only once all feedback has been considered will we finalise plans for Feethams Leisure before submitting the application.
“The consultation event demonstrated a clear appetite for the scheme and should the application be approved, we are looking forward to working with the Darlington Borough Council to bring Feethams Leisure to the public in December 2014.”
The public can view the proposals at feethamsleisure.co.uk and leave feedback.
