AYCC invitation to week of activities

HEALTH and crafts will feature in the half term programme of events at a Bishop Auckland community centre next week. (Monday February 18 onwards)

Auckland Youth and Community Centre, on the Woodhouse Close Estate, will host activities for all ages from Monday, February 18 to Friday, February 22.

There will be healthy cooking and eating classes tomorrow ( Monday, February 18), 10am, and Thursday (February 21) at 11.30am, and NHS staff will offer mini health checks and lifestyle advice on both days.

The centre will host a stories and stick puppet session for five to 11-year-olds on Tuesday (February 19), from 1.30pm to 4pm, and kite making for all ages on Thursday (February 21), 1.30pm to 4pm.

John Wiseman, business development manager at AYCC, said: “We are sending out a leaflet inviting the whole of the estate to participate in the February half term week at the centre and expect a lot of local residents to come along.

“We’re keen for more people to be aware of what we do and get involved in some of our weekly activities.”

The centre will also run a raffle with a £100 prize.
