A meals on wheels service can take on extra customers after a grant from the Bedale and Villages Community forum.
Dales-Care, the voluntary trust which helps elderly and vulnerable people in the area took on the meals on wheels service run by a team from the former Womens Royal Voluntary Service last October. They deliver freshly cooked meals to local people every Monday and Friday. Now after the £700 grant they’ve been able to purchase a new hot cupboard which will help them expand the scheme.
Stephen Howitt , Dales-Care’s Acting Vice Chairman said: “It is essential that we cater for the needs of the older community, particularly those people who are not able to visit the Centre, for whatever reason.
“This hot cupboard means that we can increase the number of people we cater for, whilst ensuring that the food is stored at the correct temperature prior to delivery. We cannot thank the Forum enough for agreeing to donate this money to us.”
