THE Honest Lawyer Hotel, near Croxdale, is offering visitors the chance to look round its facilities tomorrow (Friday, February 22). There will be free refreshments. The event runs from 4pm to 7pm. For more information, call 0191-378-3780.
PARACHUTE JUMP: David Reece, 24, of Carrville, Durham, is planning to do a parachute jump from 13,000ft in aid of the St Margaret’s Centre, in Durham. The jump is planned for Shotton airfield on Saturday, March 2. To sponsor Mr Reece, call the centre on 0191-384-8100.
TRACK CLOSED: A 500m stretch of a cycle track at Pelaw Woods Riverside, Durham City, has been closed to allow workers to stabilise the riverbank and remove trees. The route is expected to reopen in mid-March.
SILENT AUCTION: Durham Youth for Christ will hold a Snowflake Ball at Elvet Methodist Hall, Old Elvet, Durham, tomorrow night (Friday, February 22). It will include a silent auction, for which bids can be made by email. For more information, call 07912-568-911.
