A NORTH Yorkshire school has won an accolade from the UK’s leading charity for people affected by autism.
The Mowbray School at Bedale, is set to be awarded Autism Accreditation by the National Autistic Society.
The accolade will be presented by Robert Pritchett, director of the NAS accreditation scheme, in a special ceremony at the school on Monday, March 4.
The accreditation is in recognition of the special provisions the school has made for pupils on the autism spectrum.
Head Jonathan Tearle said the award was a “significant accolade” which reflected the high standards which the school aspired to provide for its pupils.
He added: “It is important to recognise the immense knowledge and leadership skills of Karen Pickles, deputy headteacher, who has led and guided the school to this award and the wonderful talents of all our staff."
