DINERS will be treated to a taste of the exotic at a charity evening in Darlington.

An Indian feast is being prepared by catering students at Darlington College as part of a themed night organised to raise money for cancer sufferers.

The students, who are presenting the Indian extravaganza as part of their course work, will prepare and serve a selection of traditional dishes at the college’s Glasshouse Restaurant.

Student Beth Abram, 18, of Darlington, said: “My family have been affected by cancer and I wanted to do something for an appropriate charity. I love Indian food so a themed night seemed the perfect answer.”

Hospitality tutor Helen Broadley said: “The students have thrown themselves into the planning and are really looking forward to showing customers how much they have learnt in the kitchen and front of house.”

The Indian themed evening will be hosted at the Glasshouse Restaurant at Darlington College on Wednesday March 20 from 6.30pm. All guests will receive a welcome drink before their meal is served. To book a table, call 01325 503192.
