Language students from Darlington improve skills at Eurolinks event

Foreign language students from Polam Hall School have taken part in a business event to improve their skills.

Thirty five pupils from Year 10 attended the 11th annual Eurolinks event at the  Bannatyne Hotel on February 28.

The 14 and 15-year-old students produced business presentations in French, German and Spanish for a fake company called Eurolinks.

The presentations had to advertise the North-East as a place to invest, incorporating local products and companies.

Organisations, including the North East Chamber of Commerce (NECC), then came along for an hour to listen to the students and give their feedback.

Arthur Hodgson, NECC membership advisor, said: “It was great hearing some of the innovative ideas.

"They had obviously put in a lot of hard work on the projects which certainly impressed all of us.”

Charis Wilson, a student, said: “It was a unique and inspiring experience.”
