DANCERS from Darlington have won themselves a place at the World Street Dance Championships after conquering a Scottish competition.
Eleven students from Dimensions Dance Academy, based in Hummersknott Academy, Darlington, scooped 17 trophies at the Scottish Street Dance Championships on March 3 in Motherwell.
Christopher Burton and Erika Porter, both seven, won the Under 8 Intermediate category; Taylor Matson and Rowan, both nine, won the Under 10 Newcomer; and Anna and Katie Reed won Over 16 Advanced Duo's.
The academy walked away with more trophies than any other team despite being the only English school invited to compete.
They will now face 15 other countries, including South Africa, Dubai and America, at the worldwide competition from August 23-25.
Anna Reed said: "We've got a top London coreographer coming to help us prepare so we're going in with high hopes."
Dimensions Dance Academy runs classes for children aged over two and is the only accredited Streetdance school in the North East of England.
