SUNDAY WORSHIP: Northallerton United Reform Church will be holding a Sunday service of Holy Communion on Sunday, March 17 from 10am.

The service will be led by the Reverend Dr Eric Nelson.

On Wednesdays, Lent Lunches will be serviced in the church hall from noon, and midweek worship will take place in the church at 1pm.

LIFE DRAWING: Northallerton Life Drawing and Art Group will meet on Fridays from 7pm until 9pm, starting from Friday, April 5, in Northallerton Methodist Church Hall, in the cottage room.

Eight sessions cost £40 if paid by April 1, or £45 if paid from the first session, and individual sessions cost £10.

Booking is essential, and both qualified and amateur artists are welcome.

ON SONG: The East Witton Voice choir has been singing for more than 60 years and is due to perform at the Wensleydale Tournament of Song for the 25th time on Friday, March 22.

The 30-member choir will be competing in the Male Voice Choir, at 7.20pm, and Anthem, at 7.45pm, classes of the tournament and asks for supporters to attend and enjoy the evening at Wensleydale School, Richmond Road, Leyburn.

AYCKBOURN PLAY: The Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond is hosting a Richmond Amateur Dramatic Society production of Alan Ayckbourn’s play, This is Where We Come In, from Thursday, March 21.

The play is the first of three RADS productions this year to celebrate the theatre’s 50 anniversary of its second opening after major refurbishment works in 1963.

The play runs until Saturday, March 23 and includes a matinee performance at 2pm, with the evening performances starting at 7.30pm.

BRASS BAND: Reeth Brass Band will give a charity concert at 3pm on Sunday, March 17, in St Andrew’s church, Grinton. Admission is free and there will be a collection in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

MATHS SKILLS: Children struggling with maths can attend a workshop with Dr Steve Chinn, a leading authority on maths and dyslexia, to learn useful strategies.

Dyslexia Network Plus, in conjunction with Richmond School’s Specific Learning Difficulties Department, has arranged a day of activities to support those with dyslexic maths problems on Saturday, March 23.

Parents and children can attend, with a morning session for primary children and an afternoon session for secondary children.

CHARITY PERFORMACE: Northallerton Woodwind Ensemble and Northallerton College Jazz Orchestra will perform in concert on Friday, March 15 in aid of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research and Northallerton and Dales Mencap Building Fund.

It will take place in Northallerton College main hall at 7pm.
