Grants given to apprentices

APPRENTICES have received money from a charity towards the cost of tools and equipment.

Six youngsters who are studying at New College Durham were awarded grants from Lord Crew’s Charity, which was founded in the 17th Centuruy by a Bishop of Durham.

A college spokesman said: “We are privileged to work with Lord Crewe’s Charity who supports our apprentices who live within Durham City, by providing a financial grant towards tools and equipment they require."

The apprentices received their grants and a certificate during a presentation in the Lantern Room at Durham Town Hall today (Wednesday , March 13).
