Personally engraved jewellery stolen from Middleham home

A PERSONALLY engraved charm bracelet is among a haul of jewellery stolen from a home in North Yorkshire.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a break-in at a house in the Market Place at Middleham, near Leyburn, between 6.30pm and 10pm on Wednesday, March 13.

One of the stolen items was a gold charm bracelet with eight charms, four of which were engraved with boys’ and girls’ names and dates of birth.

Other items taken include a gold ring with five sapphires in a row, a gold ring with three small diamonds, a gold ring with a turquoise stone and pearls, a gold ring with heart shaped gold setting two diamonds and a small emerald, two gold wedding rings and a gold knot shaped ring.

Detective Constable Jason Roper, of Northallerton CID, said they also want anyone who is offered the distinctive jewellery for sale, to contact them: “Burglary is a distressing crime, particularly when sentimental and personal items are stolen.

"The charm bracelet is quite unique being personalised with the names of people close to the owner.

“I urge anyone who is offered these items for sale to contact the police without delay.”

Detectives would also like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious people or activity in Middleham on Wednesday night to contact them.
