Darlington man apologises for wasting police time

A MAN apologised for wasting police time yesterday (Thursday March 21).

Darlington man Jason Robert Prendergast, 23, was caught by police riding a quad bike on a road on Saturday, January 26.

Appearing at Darlington Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Prendergast pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle other than in accordance with a licence and to using a motor vehicle without third party insurance.

He said: “I just want to apologise for the trouble I have caused and for wasting the police officer’s time.”

He was given six penalty points, fined £110 and made to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.
