DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses following two robberies in Hambleton in the early hours of this morning (Friday, August 16).

The first robbery happened at around 12.15am, as a man was walking home from the Three Tuns pub in Market Place in Thirsk when he was approached by a group of people on Hambleton Place.

One of the group punched him the face and stole his black iPhone 4.

The second robbery happened at about 1.30am (Friday, August 16) on Valley Road, near the Jolly Minister pub in Northallerton.

A 22-year-old Northallerton man, was attacked by at least one man, who was with a group of five or six others. He suffered facial bruising and a suspected broken nose which was treated at the Friarage Hospital.

They stole a Samsung mobile phone from him and a sandy coloured sleeveless jacket.

Arrests have been made in connection with the incidents.
