Crook Hall to hold candlelit evenings in Medieval gardens
12:12pm Tuesday 20th August 2013 in News
A MEDIEVAL hall and gardens is to stage an annual candlelit twilight event.
For three successive evenings next month, Crook Hall in Durham City will be illuminated by more than 1,000 candles at dusk.
The hall and six-acre gardens will be lit up from September 1 to 3, including floating candles on the moat pool and tea lights hanging from the trees to create an enchanted evening for visitors, with a musical accompaniment from Hannah Howie.
Hall owner Keith Bell said: "This is my favourite event of the year.
"It is hard to describe the atmosphere that is felt within the gardens. As the dusk draws near the glow of the candles come to life and the Hall and Gardens become such a magical place".
Doors open at 6.30pm each evening and admission is £9.50.
Places must be booked in advance via the website www.crookhallgardens.co.uk or on 0191-384-8028.
