Man denies conning two others into paying hundreds for rucksacks full of vegetables and cardboard
A MAN has denied selling two others expensive items which turned out to be rucksacks full of vegetables and cardboard.
Patrick McDonagh, 24, pleaded not guilty to two counts of fraud by false representation when he appeared before Darlington Magistrates Court. today (Tuesday)
It is alleged that Mr McDonagh – from Blackburn - approached the two men separately and offered to sell them electrical goods.
The men handed over £850 and £500 respectively and were given the rucksacks, later found to contain vegetables and cardboard.
The matter will be tried at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court on Monday, November 25.
Mr McDonagh has been released on unconditional bail until then.
