Sedgefield backs the track with a black tie ball
A CHARITY ball is being staged to raise funds for a world-class running track in a North-East town.
The Back the Track Ball will take place at Sedgefield Racecourse in County Durham from 7pm to 1am on Saturday, September 7.
The Friends of Sedgefield Harriers organised the event to raise funds for the Back the Track campaign, which aims to create a £450,000 synthetic running track at Sedgefield Community College.
Plans for the track were submitted to Durham County Council earlier this month and the popular athletics club has since stepped up its fundraising efforts.
If approved, the track will not only provide a high quality training facility for Sedgefield Harriers but for other clubs and schools from across the area.
Tickets for the black tie ball cost £50 and include a four course meal, entertainment, raffle and much more.
