Family fun day
FUN: Darlington Railway Athletic is celebrating its centenary this weekend with fun for all the family.
On Sunday, following Saturday’s cricket match against Blackhall, there will be a family fun day at the Brinkburn Road ground with attractions including bouncy castles, live music, food and beer stalls and Punch and Judy.
Tickets cost £3 from the clubhouse.
PROTEST: A sleep-in protest is being staged outside Darlington town hall on Saturday night against the so-called bedroom tax.
Rehana Azam, of the GMB trade union, has organised the event which is expected to attract up to 30 people.
All are welcome to go along and take part from 9pm to 6am.
BAG PACKING: Sainsbury’s on Victoria Road is calling on volunteer bag packers to help raise money for Leukaemia Research.
Several Sainsbury’s staff are cycling to North East stores across the region to raise money for the charity and the Darlington store is inviting people to bag pack on August 30 in time slots between 10.30am and 4.30pm.
