On the lookout for bats in nature reserve
BAT WALK: Darlington rangers will lead a night time nature hunt through Rockwell Local Nature Reserve, on the lookout for bats. Walkers should meet at the Hutton Avenue footbridge at 7.50pm tomorrow (Thursday, August 29), wearing suitable clothing and a torch. Call 01325-383099 for more details.
FLOWER CLUB: The next meeting of Darlington Flower Club will take place at 2pm on Wednesday, September 4, at St Cuthbert’s Church Centre, Market Place, Darlington. Area demonstrator Val Guest, from Hurworth, will give a demonstration entitled Tantilising Textures. Anyone interested in the club or the demonstration can call 01325-374205.
YOUTH CRICKET: Cricket training for boys and girls aged between five and 11-years-old is held on Friday evenings between 6pm and 8pm at Darlington Railway Athletic Cricket Club. Entry is £4 per person.
BIRTHDAY PARTY: The Bridge arts centre, in Yarm Road, Darlington, which became a new base for culture groups in the town after the closure of the town’s Arts Centre, will celebrate its first anniversary on Saturday, August 31. The event, between 10am and 4pm, will give people a chance to tour the site and find out about new arts courses starting in September.
