Salters Community Garden to stage family fun day
GARDEN: A family funday is being held to celebrate the completion of a community garden. Darlington Mayor Charles Johnson will open proceedings at Salters Community Garden at 1.30pm on Saturday (August 31) and attractions will include a bouncy castle and face painting. The garden, on Salters Lane North, was boosted by lottery funding and groups such as Groundwork, Cummins employees and schoolchildren have all helped in its creation. Eight wooden sculptures by Tommy Craggs which feature local and town history are a highlight of the garden.
