Good report for Shildon care home after inspection
A CARE home in Shildon has been praised for the way it looks after residents.
Redworth House, on Byerley Road, has been commended by the care regulator, Care Quality Commission.
A CQC inspection found that the home complies with all the standards assessed which include meeting the care, safety, health and welfare needs of residents and supporting workers.
The report also highlighted several criteria which the home exceeded including how well people’s rights, independence and choice are protected and carers’ relationships with residents.
The home provides nursing and residential care for 57 residents, mostly elderly people with dementia along with six residents with learning disabilities.
Manager, Joan McNeil, said: “The report is testament to the staff at Redworth House who work extremely hard to ensure we exceed all standards set by the CQC and make this a homely, safe and comfortable environment for our residents to live in.”
