Coffee morning for kids in Belmont
FRIENDS of Belmont Library will hold a coffee morning for children at the facility, on The Links, Belmont, Durham, on Saturday, September 7, from 10am to noon. There will be games, competitions and face painting, plus tea and coffee for accompanying adults.
DIABETES UK: Larry Smith, an Olympic torchbearer in 2012, will give a talk titled My Experience including fundraising for Diabetes UK at the next meeting of the Diabetes UK Durham voluntary group in the Diabetes Centre at the University Hospital of North Durham, Durham City, on Tuesday, September 10, at 7.30pm. Mr Smith is diabetic. All with an interest in diabetes are welcome. There will be refreshments and discussion afterwards.
SHOPPERS’ SERVICE: Janet Barrett, a lay preacher from Spennymoor, will be the guest speaker at the next shoppers’ service at St Andrew’s Methodist Church, Coxhoe, on Saturday (September 7) from 10am to 10.30am. All are welcome.
CANCER SUPPORT: Durham and District Women’s Cancer Support Group will meet in the education department common room at the University Hospital of North Durham, Durham City, on Monday, September 9, at 7pm.
CROSSGATE TALKS: The next meeting of Crossgate Community Partnership will be held tomorrow night (Tuesday, September 3) at North Road Methodist Church, North Road, Durham, at 7.45pm. Issues on the agenda include a proposed new Thai restaurant on Crossgate, the future of the County Hospital site and Allergate park.
FUNDRAISING EVENT: The Diabetes UK Durham voluntary group will hold a fundraising coffee morning at All Saints Church, Newton Hall, Durham, on Saturday (September 7) from 10.30am to noon. There will be a tombola, bric-a-brac stall and information about diabetes.
