Heavily pregnant woman admits burglary
A HEAVILY pregnant woman already serving a community order for theft has appeared in court for burglary.
Darlington Magistrates’ Court heard today (Tuesday, September 3) that Lynda Marie Dodsworth, 27, swiped an iPhone 5 from a staff worktop at the Cash Converters in Darlington on August 21.
Prosecutor Jonathan Bambro told the court that CCTV captured Dodsworth using her body to push open a swing door leading to a staff only area from where she stole a £340 phone belonging to an employee.
The court heard that Dodsworth, who is due to give birth in November, was given a 12-month conditional discharge in February for theft and was already serving a community order due to end in October for another theft offence.
She pleaded guilty to burglary in court and magistrates adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report.
Dodsworth, of Victoria Road, Darlington, was released on unconditional bail until her next court appearance on September 24 for sentencing.
