Annual toddle to fight cancer to take place at Beamish
FAMILIES are invited to take part in an annual sponsored toddle for charity.
Stanley Local Committee, which has raised funds for Cancer Research UK for almost 30 years, is to hold the event at Beamish Wild on Sunday (Sept 8) to bring in cash and raise awareness of cancer in the young.
The Beamish Toddle, a one-hour walk through Beamish Wild and the Birds of Prey Centre, starts at 11am.
The entry fee is £1. All children must be accompanied by an adult and everyone who takes part gets a certificate and medal on completion.
Abby Christie, Cancer Research UK’s Local Fundraising Manager for Durham, Darlington and Teesside said: "Stanley Local Committee are an absolute inspiration and we can’t thank them enough for their continued support and dedication.
"Cancer Research UK has made enormous progress in the fight against cancer.
"However, we have only been able to do this thanks to the dedication and commitment of our volunteers and supporters without whom we would not be able to fund outstanding scientists, doctors and nurses."
