New classes for parents-to-be in the Consett area
A NEW programme of classes offering antenatal information for parents-to-be has been launched.
The Birth and Beyond sessions are being offered in the Consett area by staff from the One Point Service and County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust, including midwives, health visitors and family support workers.
Women in the latter stages of pregnancy are invited to a Transition to Parenthood class. There will also be a Labour and Birth class held on the first Saturday of every month.
An Infant Feeding Choices class is held on the second Tuesday of every month for women at any stage of their pregnancy.
Health visitor Emma Anderson said: "By coming along to our sessions, we can support parents-to-be during this demanding time and help them to cope with changes, adjust to their new roles and provide the care that baby needs."
Classes can be booked by calling Consett Midwives 01207 594000.
To find out where the next session is taking place, contact the One Point Service health visiting team on 03000 261713.
