Deadline looms for community grant bids in Durham area
ENTRIES for community grant funding for grass roots schemes in the Durham area must be submitted for consideration, by Friday (September 13).
Durham Area Action Partnership (AAP) has invited bids from local groups and community organisations for sums of between £3,000 and £5,000 to support new projects.
The recipients will be chosen at a public vote among those attending a community grant fund event, titled: Your Money, Your Area, Your Views, at County Hall, Durham, on Saturday October 26, from 10am- 2pm.
Durham AAP area covers a large part of the old city council boundaries, from West Rainton to Witton Gilbert, Ludworth to Shincliffe.

IN HARMONY: New singers are welcome to join opening rehearsals for the ninth season in the life of Durham Harmonics vocal group, on Tuesday (September 10). Described as a “lively pop choir”, performing a range of hits from the musicals, jazz and pop numbers, the group meets each Tuesday at Elvet Methodist Church, in Old Elvet, Durham, from 7pm to 9pm. ARTHRITIS SUPPORT: The North Durham group of the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society meets in the common room at the Education Centre at the University Hospital of North Durham, on Thursday (September 12), at 7pm. All are welcome.
COFFEE MORNING: A coffee morning will be staged at North Road Methodist Church, alongside the city bus station, in Durham, on Saturday (SEP 14), from 10am to 1pm. Cakes, scones, tea, and coffee will be available throughout, with soup and bacon sandwiches served from 11am. There will also be a tombola.
