Care home recycles its way to finals of garden competition
A DARLINGTON care home has recycled its way to the finals of a national gardening competition.
The Grosvenor Park Care Home, on Burnside Road, has been selected as a finalist in an annual garden competition run by Four Seasons Health Care.
Residents, staff and families chose a recycling theme and worked to transform the home’s previously untidy garden.
Quirky touches included unusual planters made from welly boots and a model village created from breeze blocks.
Beth Robinson, regional manager for Four Seasons Health Care, said: “The residents of Grosvenor Park are very deserving of their place as a finalist.
“They had clearly worked as a team and put a lot of time and effort into the garden to make it a true masterpiece.”
The results of the competition will be announced later this month.
