A FAMILY are appealing for help in finding their much-loved missing cat.

Six-year-old Jasper, who is large, and white with tabby distinctive tabby patches, has been missing from his home in Hopgarth Gardens, Chester-le-Street, since Wednesday, September 4.

The cat likes to go out hunting at the sewage works near the town’s motorway junction.

Searches by his owners, the Fordham family, have found only Jasper’s collar minus the identity tag.

Mrs Fiona Fordham said: “He has been missing since Wednesday (September 4) morning when he didn’t come home for his breakfast. We searched but we thought he would come back.

“But after the heavy rain on Friday he didn’t come back and I knew then that something was very wrong.

“The collar with the ID tag is highly suspicious.

“It is looking like he has been taken.’’ Mrs Fordham said they were considering offering a reward for his returm and urged anyone who has seen him to contact the RSPCA Felledge Rescue Centre from where they got Jasper.
