Cancer sufferer to set off on coast to coast cycle

A MAN living with cancer is preparing to take on the coast to coast bike ride to help raise funds for a cancer that supports those with his condition.
David Iles, from Darlington, will set off from Whitehaven, in Cumbria, on Friday (September 13), and aims to arrive at Roker pier, in Sunderland, on Sunday afternoon.
The 50-year-old, who is in remission from lymphoma, will be joined by family members Seth Pearson and Mark Whittaker.
The three are part of a larger group taking on the challenge, raising funds for a range of charities.
Mr Iles and his relatives are raising funds for the Lymphoma Association.
He said: “We have been putting in quite a bit of practice to get ready, we have been out on the roads and are pretty determined that we can complete the route comfortably.
“Lymphomas are the fifth most common kind of cancer and the Lymphoma Association is a great cause.”
