Thief stole bread and milk in botched burglary

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: A thief stole milk and a loaf of bread from the doorstep of a house in Salutation Road, Darlington, after making a failed attempt to break into the property. The incident happened overnight between September 9 and 10. Anyone with information is asked to contact Darlington Police on the non-emergency number 101.
WARD SURGERY: The councillors for Lascelles ward, Helen Crumbie and Wendy Newall, will hold a surgery for local residents at Cleveland Bridge Social and Athletic Club on Saturday, September 14, between noon and 1pm.
SPECIAL SCREENING: An autism friendly screening of the Disney animated film Planes will be held at the Odeon Cinema, in Northgate, Darlington, at 11.30am on Sunday, September 15. The screening will have no trailers, the lights will be left on and the sound will be kept low to help children with autism cope with their surroundings. Call 0800-1383-315 for more information. STROKE CLUB: Age UK Darlington will host a session for people who are recovering from at stroke at its headquarters in Bradbury House, in Beaumont Street. The event will take place at 10.30am on Monday, September 16. Entry is £2.
