Parking strategy consultation extended by council

DARLINGTON Borough Council is extending its draft parking strategy consultation until 5pm on Friday, October 4, with an additional consultation event on Thursday, October 3, from 5pm to 7pm, at Cockerton Library. This consultation gives residents the chance to have their say about issues such as parking charges, parking spaces and Residents Parking Zones. ANIMAL FUN: Jay's Animal Encounters will visit Crown Street Library on Thursday, October 3. There will be two sessions suitable for young people aged 16 and upwards, from 1.30pm to 2.30pm and 3pm to 4pm. Jay will bring an assortment of his animals including hedgehogs and meerkats and entertain everyone with tales from his zookeeper days. Admission costs £3 per ticket, booking is essential. GET FIT: Ladies’ Zumba classes will be held at Willow Road Community Centre, in Darlington, from 9.45am on Friday mornings. The class consists of women aged 30 to 80 and a warm welcome is guaranteed. Classes cost £4. To book, call 07751-067-455.
RAIL REUNION: A reunion of former staff of the Darlington diesel depot, signal boxes, station and shunting yards will be held on Wednesday, September 18, at the East End Club, in Neasham Road, between noon and 4pm. Call 01325-265776 for further details.
COFFEE MORNING: A coffee morning will be held at Blackwell Grange Golf Club, formerly Stressholme Golf Centre, will be held on Friday, September 27, from 10am to noon, to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. All are welcome.
