Lads and dads have fun at church event
DADS, grandfathers, cousins and uncles enjoyed the chance to spend more time with their children at a newly-formed church group.
The Who Let The Dads Out group met at Elim Church, in Bowman Street, for the first time on Saturday (September 14).
Attractions for the young ones included a bouncy castle and computer games, with coffee and bacon sandwiches on offer for the adults.
Davy Harrison, who took his two children along, said: “The event had a welcoming atmosphere with a lot of activities for children of different ages.
“My three-year-old enjoyed the bouncy castle and my nine-year-old enjoyed the PlayStation.
“I enjoyed meeting other dads and eating lots of bacon butties.”
His son, nine-year-old Henry Harrison, added: “I had fun. I enjoyed the giant Jenga and arts and crafts and also loved beating my Dad on the PlayStation.”
Sessions will run on the second Saturday of every month, from 9.30am to 11.30am and are open to boys and girls, along with their fathers, grandfathers, uncles and other male relatives.
