Young Conservatives look to the future
2:05pm Monday 16th September 2013 in News
YOUNG Conservative Party members in Darlington have formed an official group to campaign on local issues.
The Darlington branch of Conservative Future was officially formed at a meeting on Saturday, where chairman Christopher Welsh, 26, was elected.
The group is open to Conservative supporters who are under the age of 30.
Mr Welsh said the group plans to go door-to-door in the town to hear about local issues affecting residents and to set up market stalls in the town centre to reach shoppers.
He added: “We will be working very closely with the regular Conservative Party members in Darlington and hold meetings with them once a month. We will be campaigning and canvassing around the town.”
