2:14pm Monday 16th September 2013 in News
AN amateur dramatics group which staged a production of Calendar Girls has presented a £1,000 donation to the woman who inspired the original nude charity calendar.
Angela Baker, whose Yorkshire Dales National Park officer husband John died from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1998, attended a ceremony in which Northallerton Musical Theatre Company handed the money over for the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research charity.
The company also gave £1,000 to the daughters of three of its former members, Sheila Crome, Ann Phillips and Margaret Umpleby.
Anne Mortlock, Claire Hodgson and Ruth Umpleby received the funds from the show at the Hambleton Forum for Teesside Hospice, St Teresa's Hospice, Darlington and Herriot Hospice Homecare.
The company is rehearsing for a production of Oliver!, which will be staged at Hambleton Forum from October 21 to 26. To book, call 01609-770936.
