Thieves steal mobility scooter from outside house

SCOOTER THEFT: A mobility scooter was stolen from outside a property in St Mary’s Close, Bishop Auckland, between 11pm on Monday, September 9 and 7am the following morning.
It was parked outside the front living room window and was on charge.
It is described as red, with four wheels, a small basket on the front and damage to the handle bars.
Witnesses are asked to call Durham Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
FUNDRAISING TIME: Alexander’s Palace will be performing at The Belvedere Club, Bishop Auckland, on Saturday, September 28. There will be bingo and raffles. Tickets are £4 and proceeds go towards the Macmillan Nurses.
FLOWER SHOW: Bishop Auckland Chrysanthemum and Dahlia Society will be holding its early dahlia and chrysanthemum show at the Scout Centre, Kingsway, on Sunday, September 22, from 3pm. There will be a presentation of trophies by the mayor councillor David Fleming at 5pm, followed by a raffle and sale of flowers. Admission is free.
CHARITY EVENT: Barnardo’s, in St Helen Auckland, is having a soft toy and book event on Saturday, September, from 10.30am. It hopes to raise awareness of the charity in the community. There will be a table top sale, tombola and face painting.
TEA PARTY: The Bishop Auckland branch of Virgin Money is holding a tea party on Thursday, September 19 to raise money for the Anthony Nolan Trust.
GATE DAMAGED: The rear garden gates of a property in Surrey Place, Bishop Auckland, were smashed between 8pm and 8.30pm on Monday, September 16. Witnesses are asked to call PC Jamie Pitt, at Bishop Auckland police station, on 101.
