Officer will walk the beat on Bishop Auckland estate
2:29pm Wednesday 18th September 2013 in News
THE first beat officer for a Bishop Auckland estate in two years has vowed to make criminals lives uncomfortable.
PC Dave Greenwell has been tasked with looking after the people of Woodhouse Close and solve any problems that arise.
After just two weeks in his new role he believes changes are already being made and is looking forward to getting to know the people who live there.
“I will be identifying high crime cases and prolific offenders and targeting them with partnership working to make their lives extremely uncomfortable,” said PC Greenwell.
The former response team officer plans to be out and about on the estate on foot every time he is on duty.
He has already been around quite a few of the organisations on the estate and plans to work with as many as possible to improve the lives of the people living there.
“I don’t think there is a huge problem here,” he said. “Ten years ago it was a different story.”
PC Greenwell has already responded to concerns about speeding on the estate and hopes residents will be happy to tell him about anything else they are unhappy with.
