Cyclist seriously injured after car collision

A CYCLIST has been seriously injured after a collision with a car on a rural lane. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance took the 25-year-old man to Leeds General Infirmary after the incident on Boroughbridge Road, at Bridge Hewick, near Ripon, at around 7.30am today (Friday, September 20). Police closed the road to investigate the cause of the collision and urged witnesses to call 101.
DRIVER INJURED: A motorist who crashed a Volvo car into a tree and a parked car near Sheriff Hutton has sustained serious head and chest injuries. The 40-year-old man, from Strensall, near York, was being treated at Leeds General Infirmary following the crash at 11.45pm on Thursday (September 19). Witnesses should call police on 101.
