Musical stage show to take place at Spennymoor Settlement

STAGE SHOW: The Simply Musicals in Concert show is to be performed at the Spennymoor Settlement’s Everyman Theatre on Saturday (September 28). The show starts at 2pm, with tickets £6.50, and at 7.30pm with tickets £8. Details and booking on 01388-816430.
CHARITY NIGHT: A charity night in aid of the stroke rehabilitation unit at Bishop Auckland Hospital is to be held. It is on Friday, October 4, at Spennymoor Town Hall between 7.30pm and 11.30pm and it will feature music by Robson Field. Fancy dress in a 1950s-60s style is optional with tickets £12. HISTORY TALK: Dr David Mason, principal archaeologist with Durham County Council, is to give a speech on New Excavations at Binchester: Revealing a Buried Roman City. The talk is at 7.30pm on Wednesday (September 25) at St Andrew’s Church, Bishop Auckland, with free entry.
MUSIC TRIP: Pupils from Teesdale School have travelled to the south coast of England to perform several times. The pupils of the Teesdale Soul Band and Vocal Tees played at several venues including the lower gardens bandstand in Bournemouth. CHURCH FUN: The Messy Church, in Willington, is to be held at Willington Methodist Church on Friday (September 27) between 3.30pm and 5pm. Entry is free and the session will feature games, crafts and worship. It is open to youngsters up to the age of 11 but youngsters must be accompanied by an adult.
HARVEST FESTIVAL: A harvest festival is to take place at St Bartholomew’s Church, Thornley Village, near Tow Law, on Friday, October 11, at 7.30pm. The church will be open between 5pm and 7pm between October 8-10 for people to leave items or to help decorate the church. An auction of items donated for the service will take place on the night.
