Businesses invited to enter for Teesdale awards

BUSINESSES in Teesdale are being urged to enter an annual awards event aimed at promoting and showcasing success.
The Teesdale Business Awards 2013 will take place with a special ceremony at the newly-refurbished Witham Hall, Barnard Castle, on Friday, November 15.
Categories include: best business in Teesdale, best community project, environmental achievement, Teesdale exporter of the year and young entrepreneur award.
The main sponsors of the event are Banks Renewables and GlaxoSmithKline.
Katie Perkins, communications manager at The Banks Group, said: “With categories covering everything from the best new and established companies to excellence in export, environmental best practice and customer service, the awards offer a fantastic opportunity for Teesdale companies to showcase their many achievements, and we’d encourage as many local firms as possible to put themselves in the spotlight.”
Last year’s winner of the best new business and environmental achievement awards, Deborah Hare from Cross Lanes Farm, said: “Winning a Teesdale Business Award put us in the spotlight with regards to press therefore increasing our awareness and achievements amongst the local community, which all helps to bring custom to Cross Lanes.”
