Family health day in Bowburn
A FAMILY health day will be held at Bowburn Community Centre, Durham Road, Bowburn, on Saturday (September 28). Organised by the Pioneering Care Partnership, it will include arts and crafts, fitness taster sessions, information stalls, health checks and face painting. The event runs from 11am to 2pm, with an animal handling workshop from 11.30am to 12.30pm. All activities are free. COFFEE MORNING: Age UK County Durham will hold a coffee morning for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people aged over 50 at North Road Methodist Church, North Road, Durham, on Wednesday, October 9, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. For more information, call 0191-3839750.
PRE-LOVED SALE: Elvet Methodist Church, on Old Elvet, Durham, will hold a coffee, cake and pre-loved sale on Saturday, October 5, from 10am to noon. All are welcome. Entry is free. Proceeds will go to the Kwagala Trust, which helps poor children in Uganda.

MUSIC NIGHT: Durham Hospitals Radio will present GT Group Band Peterlee and Durham Constabulary Male Voice Choir in concert at Elvet Methodist Church, Old Elvet, Durham, on Friday, October 4. Doors open at 7pm, for a 7.30pm start. Tickets are £8 for adults, £4 for children aged five to 16 and free for under fives. Tickets will be available on the door.
