Tudhoe pub's next event for charity
A PUB that has raised thousands of pounds to support families that have lost a baby is planning its next money-making event.
The Green Tree, in Tudhoe village, near Spennymoor, started a cash crusade in aid of the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society (Sands) last July.
Inspired by an established gentleman's day which supports a range of charities each year and her mother’s work as a midwife, landlady Murrie Venis got the ladies on board for Sands.
She said: "In total we have now raised over £3,500 in just over a year.
“This money is donated to the Wearside branch which allows the men and women within our community to receive much-needed support by various means after having being devastated by the loss of a baby."
A ladies night including a 1970s disco and music from ABBA tribute band Swede Dreamz will be held at The Green Tree, Tudhoe village, on Monday, November 18, from 7pm.
It will be a fancy dress ticket only event, guests will receive a bottle of Babycham and 1970s inspired canapés.
Tickets are £20 from the pub.
