Older residents offered help on consultation over proposed bus changes
2:19pm Wednesday 25th September 2013 in News
AN ORGANISATION which supports older people is to help residents complete consultation forms on proposed changes to bus services and social care.
AGE UK North Yorkshire will be hosting a coffee morning in Northallerton on Thursday, October 3 where people will be on hand to help residents complete consultation documents on the proposed reduction of the bus subsidy and changes to bus services.
One of the issues being considered includes the cancellation of some Northallerton and Thirsk bus services.
North Yorkshire County Council is consulting over the issue and also getting feedback on potential changes to social care, which may mean an increase in charges for some residents who currently receive subsidies.
Representatives from the Northallerton Area Over Fifties Forum will help people fill in the forms at the AGE UK offices on 33 High Street, Northallerton between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
A further opportunity for looking at the bus subsidy consultation will be held outside Northallerton Town Hall on Wednesday, October 9.
