4:00pm Thursday 26th September 2013 in News
AN artist donated a teddy bear mosaic to the children’s ward at Darlington Memorial Hospital today (Thursday September 26).
Darlington man Phillip Pearce discovered his talent in mosaic making after attending art classes with the town’s DISC charity, set up to help people deal with issues such as homelessness and poverty.
Mr Pearce has been working on the bear mosaic for two years with the intention to donate it to the children’s ward.
He said: “I wanted to create something bright and colourful to cheer up the children.”
Staff and children were on hand to see the artist present his colourful mosaic.
