Generous coffee drinkers raise £200 for charity

A coffee morning at Deb’s Diner, Eldon Lane, raised £200 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The organisers would like to thank everyone who contributed to the tombola or donated money.
CHARITY NIGHT: Spennymoor Town Council is holding a charity night featuring Robson Field at the town hall, on Friday, October 4, from 7.30pm to 11.30pm. There will be a hot supper and licensed bar and 1950/60s fancy dress is optional. Tickets cost £12 and are available on 01388-815276. Proceeds will go to The Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Bishop Auckland Hospital.
FASHION SHOW: Clothes shop M&Co is holding a charity fashion show in aid of Tudhoe Methodist Church at its store in Spennymoor on Wednesday, October 2, at 5.30pm. CAREER COURSE: A ten-week employability and personal development course starts at Chilton Community College, on Tuesday, October 8, from 9am to 11.30am. The free sessions, organised by Durham County Council’s adult learning and skills service, are part of the Get into… City and Guilds programme. HARVEST FESTIVAL: There will be a harvest festival at Cockfield Methodist Church, on Sunday, October 6, at 10.30am. On Monday, October 7, at 7pm, there will be a sale of fruit and vegetables. All money raised will be given to charity.
