Mental health support event in Durham
5:09pm Monday 30th September 2013 in News
AN event aimed at supporting sufferers of mental ill-health, while promoting well-being and recovery, takes place next week.
The support and activity day, at Belmont, Durham, is being staged to coincide with World Mental Health Day.
Developed and devised in partnership with people who have mental health issues, it will include talks, fun activities and discussion sessions.
The event will encourage those with mental health difficulties to listen, learn and share their experiences through talks, fun activities and discussion sessions.
Durham County Council’s support and recovery team is one of a number of organisations in the field of mental health taking part.
Its members will be on hand to talk about the services they provide throughout the day.
The support event is staged at The Durham Centre, on Belmont Industrial Estate, on Friday October 11, between 9am and 3.30pm.
Further information about the event and the support available to people suffering mental health difficulties can be seen on www.durham.gov.uk/mentalhealth, the council’s dedicated website covering the issue.
Anyone affected by mental health issues is welcome to attend, but places must be booked in advance via Naomi Stevens, by emailing email@example.com, or by ringing 0191-303 8623.
